In the publisher's red diagonal fine-ribbed cloth binding by Berger, with beveled boards; black and gilt-stamped ruled borders, vignettes of puppet theater, woman in well with bucket, pulley, and crawling child, floral and floriate decorations on the front panel; black and gilt-stamped ruled borders, vignette of boy with basket, vignette of racquet, horn, doll, and baton, and foliate decorations with bird and nest, and gilt-stamped titling on the spine; and black-stamped publisher's device of torch, laurel branch, and scrolled banner with monogram.
