Alphabetical presentation of early 19th century English domestic cuisine, with recipes ranging from "Acid Sauce" to "Zests". The author was a cook at The Thatched House Tavern on St. James Street. Octavo: [x], 541, [1, blank] pp. with an engraved frontispiece and 7 full-page table layouts printed in green and black. In a modern three-quarter brown calf over marbled paper binding, with a red morocco spine label, five raised bands, with gilt-stamped titling, borders, and ornaments. All edges marbled, with new endpapers. Sporadic marginal pencil dashes. Two ownership inscriptions and an embossed library stamp to the title page, with a small ink date stamp to the following leaf.
