In the publisher's red diagonal fine-ribbed cloth binding designed by Auguste D. Souze fils, with blue, black, silver, and gilt-stamped full-cover gothic tabernacle with heraldic devices, and figure of Jeanne d'Arc with banner and sword, against a fleur-de-lis field, and banners with uncial titling on the front panel; black, silver, and gilt-stamped full-length gothic tabernacle with heraldic devices, and figure of Jeanne d'Arc on a pyre, and uncial titling on the spine; and black-stamped ruled borders and frame with floral ornamental spandrels on the rear panel. All edges gilt, with slate endpapers. Mild rubbing to the silver-stamped designs, with some very light wear to the corners and tips. Better than very good.
