Octavo: [x], 297, [1, blank] pp. with a frontispiece and 19 full-page plates, all photogravures with red-printed captioned tissue guards. In the publisher's ivory enameled flat-weave cloth binding, with beveled boards; blue-stamped floral-decorated panels, blue and gilt-stamped ornamental surround, and gilt-stamped statue vignette and titling on the front panel; and blue-stamped ornamental bands and patterned field and gilt-stamped titling on the spine. Top edge gilt, with buff endpapers and a red silk ribbon marker. Ink address to the front flyleaf, with just a hint of foxing to the rear endpaper. In the scarce dust jacket, which toned and moderately edgeworn with a bit of chipping; else very good. Provenance: from the Publishers' Bookbindings collection of Ellen K. Morris and Edward S. Levin.
