[POETRY FILE]
This file folder full of poetry typescripts is accompanied by a typed note signed by the revered American writer, Ray Bradbury (1920-2012), to publisher Herb Yellin of the Lord John Press: "Dear Herb: As promised! Many poems. TOO Many! But better to have a huge bunch, than too few. Browse thru at your leisure. SOme poems are finished. Others half-finished...some are good ideas that need watering. Perhaps some are dead on their feet. Anyway, when you're ready, let's chat. See you, God willing, on All Hallows Eve! Luv, Ray Oct. 28, '85". Lord John Press published fine limited editions of several collections of Bradbury poetry.
Housed within a brown file folder are 76 photomechanically reproduced sheets made from the original typescripts, along a title sheet on which Bradbury's note is affixed. Present here are drafts of "Death Has Lost its Charm for Me", "Ode to Dorothy Parker", "The Last Good Kiss", "Ahab at the Helm", "In-Between", and other poems. Holographic corrections are reproduced, as well as notations concerning the date of various drafts and revisions. Bradbury has handwritten his January 1977 schedule on the front panel of the folder and added an original drawing to the rear panel. Item #79614
