Clayton, Edward Dalziel, Thomas Dalziel, E. Duncan, G. Duncan, Myles Birket Foster, William Harvey, F.R. Pickersgill, John Tenniel, and Harrison Weir. In the publisher's deluxe brown morocco binding, with dark brown-stamped ruled borders and surrounds, and floral spandrels, and gilt-stamped ornamental circular surround with author's conjoined monogram device on the front and rear panels; and five raised bands with tooling, dark brown-stamped rules, and ornamental compartment rules, and gilt-stamped compartment ornaments and titling on the spine. All edges gilt, with gilt-stamped dentelles and white endpapers with combed marbling in ochre, crimson, and dark blue. Period previous owner's ink signature to a prefatory blank leaf. Light rubbing to the gilt on the fore-edge. The spine is darkened just a touch, with mild rubbing to the corners and tips. Better than very good.
