Columbia, South Carolina: Evans and Cogswell Lithography for the Confederate States of America, March 2, 1863. Engraved and printed on thin cream stock (12” x 13 ¾”). The bond bears an engraved portrait of Robert Charles Tyler (1832-65), a Confederate Brigadier General during the American Civil War. He was the last general killed in the conflict.
This was a $500, 8 percent bond issued by the Confederate States of American to help fund the war. The bond mature date was February 20, 1863. Includes seven coupons valued at $20 each. Item #79377
