TREASURE ISLANDS: Sailing the South Seas in the wake of Fanny and Robert Louis Stevenson

London: Headline, 2005. First Edition. Hardcover. Presentation copy, inscribed by Pamela Stephenson to Eric Idle opposite the title page, and additionally signed by her on the title page. A longtime friend, Idle and his wife, Tania, were frequent guests at Billy Connolly and Pamela Stephenson's home in Candacraig.

From the library of revered English actor, comedian, musician, and writer Eric Idle, accompanied by a letter of provenance. Idle (b.1943) is a founding member of the British comedy troupe Monty Python, as well as the parody rock group The Rutles, and is the writer of the music and lyrics for the hit Broadway musical Spamalot.

This is the story of two resourceful women. One, psychologist and wife of Billy Connolly, Pamela Stephenson ; the other, Fanny Stevenson, intrepid wife of Robert Louis. Both married to maverick Scots, both in search of adventure, both drawn to the coral islands, lagoons, natives, and customs of the South Seas. A love of Joseph Conrad, a desire to escape the travails of an LA lifestyle, and a fascination with Fanny all inspired Pamela’s voyage to the other side of the world.
