This copy is inscribed on the front pastedown by John Shabazz (later Abdul Allah Muhammad, 1931-2020), an influential figure in the Nation of Islam. Drawn to the teachings of Elijah Muhammad after hearing a speech by Malcolm X, Shabazz joined the Nation of Islam in 1957 and served as a minister in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Later, he emerged as a close ally of Louis Farrakhan. Octavo: xxvii, [1], 355, [1] pp. Original blue cloth binding, with gilt-stamped titles. Some mild mottling and wear along the edges.
