Item #78685 FILM THREAT. Christian Gore.

FILM THREAT

Royal Oak, Michigan: Film Products Inc., 1985-1995. Fourteen issues: Volume II, Issues 1, 2, and 8-17, along with Issues 3 and 11 of the Film Threat Video Guide.

“Film Threat began as a xeroxed fanzine started by Chris Gore and Andre Seewood in 1985. Only 500 copies of the first issue were printed and then distributed on the campus of Wayne State University in Michigan. It was on that campus that Gore and Seewood earned a reputation as disruptors by playing pranks on the film department and even going so far as to fake Gore’s death to promote a film screening. Seewood left after a year and Gore continued to grow the magazine beyond its xeroxed roots into a fully printed magazine.”

From the library of Howie Pyro, dubbed the "Patron Saint of the Weird" by Village Voice. Pyro (born Howard Kusten, 1960-2022) was a veteran of the New York punk and underground scenes, best known for his work with D Generation and Danzig.

Film Threat began as a digest-size, mimeographed zine and transitioned into a standard magazine format. Occasional light toning and wear; else very good or better.
