Los Angeles: David Geffen Company, 1990. Compact disc with artwork by Raymond Pettibon on the cover. Goo is the sixth full-length studio album by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth, released on June 26, 1990. The CD and printed insert are housed in the original jewel case.
Pettibon (b.1957) came to prominence during the early '80s in the Southern California punk scene, creating posters and album art mainly for groups signed to SST Records, owned and operated by his older brother, Greg Ginn. He also designed Black Flag's iconic four bars logo.
From the collection of art collector and prominent realtor Barry Sloane, who gifted many of the Pettibon flyers in his private collection to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles. Item #78431
