Christy (1802-68) was an Ohio journalist who was instrumental in raising awareness and soliciting contributions toward the purchase of a track of land in Africa for the colonization of formerly enslaved people. Located between Sierra Leone and Libreria, this land was known as "Ohio in Africa". Octavo: 56 p. Original sewn tan printed paper wrappers. Light stain to the top corner of the contents, with some occasional mild foxing. The wrappers are moderately toned and soiled, with a little bit wear at the corners and tips; else about very good.
