Item #77190 THE STIRRUP ROOM, Hotel Multnomah. Menu.

THE STIRRUP ROOM, Hotel Multnomah

The Stirrup Room was known as one of Portland, Oregon's swankier cocktail lounges in the 1950s with western decor, a chuck wagon menu, and generous pours. This menu (circa 1955) measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2" and is die cut in the shape of a rodeo clown. It lists among the specialty drinks the Hangman's Noose: a "gallows of light and Jamaica rums, curacao, grenadine and lime juice - two of these and the trap is sprung". The lounge was twice named by Holiday magazine as one of the 75 outstanding restaurants in the United States. Located on Pine Street, Hotel Multnomah opened in 1912 and closed in 1963. Tiny stain to an inner panel; otherwise very good. Item #77190
