Fun fact: The band, whose name was an homage to Darth Vader from the Star Wars series, inspired the name of American rock band Eagles of Death Metal. When a friend was trying to introduce Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme to death metal, he played Vader’s music. Homme’s initial assessment of the band - he called them “The Eagles of death metal” - led him and Jesse Hughes to explore what an actual cross between the Eagles and a death metal band would sound like.
