Wilberforce University (Ohio) defeated Prairie View A&M (Texas) 26-0 in the inaugural Fruit Bowl. The game was held three times, following the 1947 to 1949 seasons.

This program include a list of special events, the team rosters, brief profiles of the five members of the Fruit Bowl Association, etc. Notably, it also features dozens of advertisements for Black-owned Bay Area businesses and entertainers, including T-Bone Walker, Saunders King, and Ivory Joe Hunter.
