HEALD-MENEREY'S GEOGRAPHICAL, COMMERCIAL AND RECREATIONAL MAP OF CALIFORNIA

Los Angeles: Heald-Menerey Co., Inc., 1927. Bound with brads in printed tan cardstock wrappers, this sectioned wall map of California is cut into horizontal strips that fold out accordion style to 44” x 64”. Printed in color, the pages of this book are coated. A very good example.

The map book has an index of the counties printed on the verso of the front cover and directions for use on the verso of the rear cover: "The first of its kind ever devised for desk, home or automobile use. It consists of the California Survey, 44 x 64 inches in size, cut into eight strips and folded to make a book of 64 pages.” The directions continue to explain its use: “It is simple to go from any given page to the one immediately to the north by subtracting eight pages from the page number.”
