Item #76159 CRACKERS. Edward Ruscha.

CRACKERS

Hollywood, California: Heavy Industry Publications, 1969. First Edition. Wraps. Octavo: [240] p. with 115 photographic illustrations. Original plain paper wrappers, accompanied by a white paper dust jacket with red titles. The ink stamp of Ruscha's distributor, Wittenborn and Company, appears on the verso of the rear panel. The dust jacket is somewhat toned, more so along the spine, with some very mild edgewear; otherwise very good.

An interpretation in photography of the essay "How to Derive the Maximum Enjoyment from Crackers" by Mason Williams, which reads as a set of instructions for a man and his dinner date (an excerpt is printed on the rear flap of the dust jacket). The four subjects of the photographs are Larry Bell as the Man, Léon Bing as the Woman, Rudi Gernreich as the Bellhop, and Tommy Smothers as the Chauffer. Very good / Very good. Item #76159
