Item #75682 FUNDAMENTALS OF SCIENTOLOGY. J. F. Horner, D. Scn, D. D.

FUNDAMENTALS OF SCIENTOLOGY

Johannesburg, South Africa: Static Publications, 1956. First Edition. Wraps. The rare self-published first edition of this work, which was subsequently issued by the Church of Scientology as "Summary of Scientology: A New Understanding of Life" (1956). Jack Horner (1927-89) was a senior auditor in the early days of Scientology. Disillusioned by what he perceived as an increasingly repressive behavior and outspoken in his opposition to the Sea Org, he broke away from the Church in 1965 to create his own splinter organization: "Dianology" (later to become "Eductivism"). In response, the Church declared him subversive and banned this book. 12mo: [x], 133 p. Original printed paper wrappers. A bit of toning along the extremities, with some general edgewear and soiling; else about very good. Scarce, OCLC locates only three holdings: Library of Congress, Southern Methodist, and the National Library of South Africa. Very good. Item #75682

Price: $500.00
