Though rooted in the landscape and the lore of Big Sur, Jeffers (1887-1962) drew on many mythic and literary sources to construct Cawdor, especially Euripides' tragedy Hippolytus. Octavo. Original tan cloth-covered boards over a salmon cloth spine, with gilt titles. The spine is darkened just a touch; otherwise very good. Housed in the publisher's slipcase, which is unevenly toned with some occasional edgewear. Very good. Item #75243
