Follows the adventures of a young boy named Bartholomew Cubbins, who must rescue his kingdom from a sticky green substance called oobleck. Named a Caldecott Honor book in 1951, this sequel of sorts to The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins (1938) was inspired by a conversation Geisel overheard while stationed in Belgium during World War II.
