The warm and often humorous autobiography of Patricia Ziegfeld Stephenson (1916-2008), daughter of Broadway impresario Florenz Ziegfeld (1867-1932) and Billie Burke (1884-1970), the actress best known for playing Glinda the Good Witch in The Wizard of Oz (1939).

Following her husband’s death, Billie Burke made her Hollywood comeback, starring as Margaret Fairfield in A Bill of Divorcement (1932), directed by George Cukor. She also appeared in Cukor’s film Dinner at Eight (1933), opposite Marie Dressler, John Barrymore, Wallace Beery, Jean Harlow, and Lionel Barrymore. At Burke’s memorial service, Cukor told the congregation: “She was an actress in the most romantic tradition, with the magic of the theatre.”
