AUTOGRAPHED CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH
An autographed cabinet card photograph of actress Julia Marlowe (born Sarah Frances Frost, 1865-1950). The English-born American actress was best known for her interpretations of William Shakespeare's plays.
The photograph is dated 1895, the same year Marlowe made her Broadway debut; she would go on to appear in more than seventy Broadway productions. It is signed Julia Marlowe Taber as she was married to Broadway actor Robert Taber at the time.
The 4” x 6 ½” sepia tone portrait by J. Falk of New York shows Marlowe as the character Imogen in Shakespeare’s Cymbeline. Item #72715
