An English dramatist and writer, Jerrold (1803-1857) was a contemporary of Thackeray and Dickens, and arguably the greatest wit of his era. Octavo. In a one-quarter vellum over blue cloth binding, with a blue morocco spine label, decorative gilt stamping, marbled endpapers, and a ribbon marker (detatched but present). An excerpt from Tennyson's "In Memorian" is handwritten on a prefatory blank leaf. A lovely presentation. Very good. Item #72177
