Vienna, Austria: Verlag B.M. Leitner, 1960-61. Wraps. Vol. 1, No 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. Included here are 14 issues, including duplicate copies of the second, fifth, and sixth issues. A nearly-complete run of this exceedingly scarce publication dedicated to the small carved ornaments worn as part of Japanese traditional dress as a toggle by which an article may be attached to the sash of a kimono. All of the scholarly articles are presented in both German and English. Included here are 14 issues, including duplicate copies of the second, fifth, and sixth issues. Each issue consists of between 15 and 24 mimeographed pages, which are illustrated with mounted plates, including silver gelatin photographs, and bound with staples in printed paper wrappers (8 ¼” x 11 ¾”) that feature a mounted photograph on the front panel. What appears to be the signature of Dr. Franz Weber appears on the front endpaper of the first volume. There is some mild toning to the contents. Some occasional light soiling to the wrappers, with tape repairs to the front panel of the first panel and the rear panel of the final issue; else very good. Very good. Item #69731
