FOOTPRINTS ON THE FRONTIER: Saga of the La Ramie Region of Wyoming

Douglas, Wyoming: Virginia Cole Trenholm, 1945. First Edition. Hardcover. Edition limited to one thousand copies of which this is No. 353, signed by the author. "Delightfully presented history of the region south of the North Platte along the Wagonhound, Horse Shoe, Cottonwood, Sybille, Richeau, and Chugwater creeks and Laramie River. Filled with extensive quotations from diaries and memoirs of the pioneers" (Wyomingiana, p.57). Also includes material on the Johnson County War, the cattle industry, ranch women, Calamity Jane, Wild Bill Hickock, and Tom Shaw. Frontispiece, with 63 illustrations and maps. Octavo. Original brown cloth binding, with black stamping. Tiny bit of rubbing to the corners and tips. Accompanied by what appears to be two states of the uncommong dust jacket. Both are a trifle edgeworn, with a few neat tape repairs to the versos, and some mild sun fading along the spine of the later dust jacket. A very good or better example of this uncommon work. Near fine / Very good. Item #69078
