San Francisco: The Book Club of California, 1993. First Edition. Hardcover. First edition, limited to 390 copies designed by Lewis Allen of The Allen Press. "This book celebrates Cowan's pioneering California bibliography published in 1914. As the inaugural book in The Book Club of California's publication program, this landmark bibliography established many of the procedures and traditions that have guided the Club's publication program over the last seven decades. Each copy is accompanied by a leaf from the original 1914 edition." In this case, the leaf (p.251-252) features, among other titles, Daniel B. Wood's Sixteen Months at the Gold Diggings (1851), a Zamorano 80 title. Quarto. Original paper-covered boards over a linen spine, with a printed paper title label inset on the front. A fine copy in a mylar dust wrapper. Fine. Item #66344
