The first attempt to assemble all the known information about the Passenger Pigeon, which is believed to have gone extinct in 1914. Mershon (1856-1943) has been a keen hunstman and fisherman, but at some point he realized that the pigeons remembered from his youth had virtually disappeared, and he began to use the fortune he had made from the lumber industry to fund various protectionist activities. Octavo. Original burgundy cloth binding, with gilt titles. It appears a blank leaf has been tipped in on the front flyleaf. The contents are slightly musty. Minor stain to the front board, with a bump to the bottom corner of the rear board. The dust jacket is a bit browned, more so along the spine, with a bit of wear and shallow chipping at the corners and tips; else very good. Very good / Very good. Item #65200
