The theatrical memoirs of Frederick Barkham Warde (1851-1935), an English Shakesperian actor who relocated to the United States in the late 19th century. He is perhaps best known for having discovered Douglas Fairbanks, and as the star of Richard III (1912), the 55-minute motion picture thought to be the earliest surviving American feature film. Inscribed by Warde on the front flyleaf, with two typescript copies of Warde's poem "The Vision of Junipero Serra" laid in. Octavo. Original green cloth binding, with black stamping.
